Maintaining the same weight of around 1.2kg as per its predecessor, the new 2020 XPS 13 (designated as model 9300) comes with a brand-new InfinityEdge display that features slim bezels on all four of its sides. For comparison, the previous XPS 13 (model 7390) featured a noticeably thicker bottom bezels as compared to its left, right, and upper bezels. Available with resolution of up to 4K Ultra HD+ (3840 x 2400) with HDR support, the new 16:10 display apparently has a 91.5% screen-to-body ratio. Regardless of the display resolution and panel type that customers choose, they all come standard with 100% sRGB colour gamut coverage and brightness level of 500-nit. In terms of firepower, the new 2020 XPS 13 can be obtained with up to 10th Gen Intel Core i7-1065G7 quad-core processor and 32GB LPDDR4x-3733 RAM. Customers can also choose to equip the new laptop with up to 2TB PCIe 3 x4 solid state drive and it also comes with a 52Whr that battery helps deliver up to 19 hours of battery life for the variant with FHD+ (1920 x 1200) display.
The new 2020 XPS 13 is scheduled to enter the market starting from 7 January with a price tag of USD 999.99 (~RM 4,088) onwards although its Malaysian release date and pricing are yet known for the time being. Linux users can also opt for the XPS 13 Developer Edition which comes pre-loaded with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and a starting price of USD 1,199.99 (~RM 4,906).
