As you may know from our previous report, the 3rd generation AirPods carry a new contoured design and shorter stems which make them look almost identical to the AirPods Pro. Even though they were indeed equipped with the same H1 chip and force touch controls, the new AirPods are not in-ear and are also missing the active noise cancellation capability as well as Transparency mode.
However, they still offer several other similar features such as IPX4 sweat and water-resistant rating, spatial audio support with dynamic head tracking, and Adaptive EQ. In terms of battery life, the new AirPods can last up to 6 hours or 30 hours if you consider their MagSafe Charging Case as well. Pricewise, the 3rd generation AirPod is listed at RM829 on Apple Malaysia’s website. As a comparison, the 2nd generation model is currently available for RM589 which is slightly lower than its original price tag of RM699 when it was released in Malaysia back in April 2019.
