While the new phone might look almost identical to its predecessor, one of the main feature that separates them apart is the fact that the ROG Phone II comes with a wider 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. True to the rumours, the display also has 120Hz refresh rate together with 240Hz touch sampling rate, and Delta E ≦1 colour accuracy as well as HDR support and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus and 12GB LPDDR4X RAM as standard, the ROG Phone II can be obtained with up to 512GB of UFS3.0 internal storage. In order to cool down its components especially during a long gaming session, the phone internally relies on a combination of a 3D vapour chamber and heat sink together with vents on the phone back cover and the improved AeroActive Cooler II detachable fan. Just like the original model, the ROG Phone II is still equipped with a set of touch-based shoulder buttons called AirTrigger. However, ASUS has made some improvement to them by offering support for finger resting and sliding gesture as well as dual vibration feature to help them feel closer to physical buttons.

The ROG Phone II also comes with a Sony IMX586 48MP main camera on its back alongside a 13MP ultra wide-angle camera as well as a 24MP selfie camera. Completing its general specifications is a 6000mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 4.0 tech and a maximum charger output rating of 30W. At the time this article is published, ASUS didn’t reveal the release date and the pricing for ROG Phone II although it will be launched in China later this week. We’ll keep you updated once we hear more details about the phone from the company.
