Let’s start with the official confirmation of the phone’s name and its launch date which was part of a post on ASUS Malaysia’s Facebook page that seems like a war cry towards Xiaomi: According to the serial leaker Roland Quandt of WinFuture, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 will be carrying a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, alongside 4GB of RAM and three rear cameras. He has also revealed three more characterizes of the phone including 6-inch Full HD+ display, 64/128GB internal storage, and a 13MP camera sensor although he has cautioned that these three specs are not yet 100% confirmed.
— Roland Quandt (@rquandt) November 14, 2018 On another related leak, XDA Developers has also recently discovered the phone on Google Play Console’s device catalog. The specs that were listed there apparently matched what has been rumored so far. Not enough with that, a render of the phone’s front side has also been included in the catalog. The image, as shown below, might be quite tiny but it is still clear enough to show the phone’s notch and chin.
All this early information aside, it doesn’t hurt to take them with a grain of salt as we will only able to see the real thing on 11 December. That being said, expect more leak to come flowing into the Internet as we get close to the official launch. (Source: ASUS Malaysia, Roland Quandt, XDA Developers)
