The only substantial update that the government has provided was a recent remark by Finance Minister, Tengku Zafrul Aziz who stated that the free ePENJANA credit will be paid at the end of July but didn’t reveal the list of e-wallet partners that will be involved in the program. We have since learned that one of the official ePENJANA e-wallet partners is Boost after we discovered a dedicated page on its website via Google search. At this moment, you would be rerouted to Boost’s home page if you tried to browse the page directly, but you can check out the ePENJANA page in full through Google’s cache.
Aside from confirming that it is an official e-wallet partner for ePENJANA, the site also provides rudimentary information about the program including eligibility and redemption process. Boost has also published the same information in its Help Center right here. Speaking about the redemption, there seem to be no special verification procedures for users to redeem the free RM 50 credit even though MySejahtera app is involved in the picture. Based on Boost’s Help Center document, you just need to make sure that you already a registered user of MySejahtera before you apply to redeem the ePENJANA credit through Boost e-wallet app. Another e-wallet service that seems to be on board the ePENJANA train is Touch ‘n Go eWallet. Unlike Boost, we have not found any dedicated ePENJANA page on TnG eWallet’s website though but there is a clear reference to ePENJANA on the site’s E-Tunai Rakyat’s page. Meanwhile, we have yet to find any signs that GrabPay, who was also an E-Tunai Rakyat alumni just like Boost and TnG eWallet, is participating in ePENJANA. Nevertheless, we will keep you posted once we receive more information regarding the progress of the program which should take off in a few days if the remark by Minister Tengku Zafrul is accurate.
