EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was previously predicted to sell between 6 and 8 million copies by 31 March. The game has clearly performed way better than the company expected. EA is now expecting to sell 10 million copies in the same time period instead. Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, said that the company realised that there are plenty of gamers who want a single player story experience. He continued to say that the company will “build experiences that satisfy their needs and motivations”.
As for what’s next following Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the company said it will leave it to developer Respawn Entertainment. Naturally, there are no details about what that is at this point in time. But for wht it’s worth, it “would be different from what we see in an Ultimate Team or an Apex Legends”. It all sounds good, but it’s still not a guarantee that there will be another single player Star Wars game. There’s also no guarantee that it won’t feature microtransactions, as claimed. But either way, gamers can take this as a win for single player games. Even better if the new single player Star Wars games are also being made by Respawn Entertainment. (Source: PCGamesN)
