Android Police reports that a flag has been added to the beta version of Chrome 84. Enabling this activates a tab strip at the bottom of the Chrome browser’s interface. It looks similar to the PC experience, besides the fact that the tab strip is at the bottom. Rather than seeing full names of websites the tab is on, you only get an icon.
Enabling this flag involves pasting chrome://flags/#enable-conditional-strip into the address bar. But not everyone can get it to work. There’s no explanation as to why this is the case, but there may be other conditions that must be met before the flag can be enabled. Android Police suspects that one of them may involve flags on Google’s servers. Naturally, if you want to check if this works for you, you need to be running the beta version of Chrome 84 on your Android device. The general release is on its way, but it remains to be seen if this feature will make its way there. (Source: Android Police)
