The new Huawei MatePad features a 10.4-inch IPS display with 2000 x 1200 px resolution, which is certified by TÜV Rheinland eye-health. It is equipped with the Kirin 810 chipset along with up to 6GB of RAM and storage capacity of up to 128GB. Additionally, the tablet sports four large Harman Kardon-tuned speakers, as well as four onboard microphones.

The new MatePad features two 8MP cameras; a front facing shooter situated on its bezel, and a rear main camera with autofocus support. While these offerings may sound lacklustre when compared to Huawei’s recent mobile devices, the tablet is intended for general and educational use rather than photography after all. As with most of the company’s current range of mobile products, the device features Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) and supports AppGallery-based applications. Also worth noting is that even though the device does support the M-Pencil, the accessory itself is not included as part of the new MatePad’s package.

The Huawei MatePad 10.4-inch is available in three configurations: 4GB + 64GB WiFi priced at CNY1,899 (~RM1,170), 6GB + 128GB WiFi at CNY2,199 (~RM1,355), and 6GB + 128GB LTE at CNY2,499 (~RM1,540). Like the newly announced Nova 7 series, Huawei has not disclosed any plans for a global release just yet. (Source: GSMArena)
