Unsurprisingly, Renduchintala’s stepping down comes after an Intel financial earnings report revealed that Intel’s roadmap for its 7nm process was delayed and now six months behind schedule. Forcing the semiconductor maker to push back any delivery of a 7nm processor back as far as 2023. On that note, Reuters says that Renduchintala will be replaced by Ann Kelleher, a 24-year veteran at the company who will lead the development for both its 7nm and 5nm endeavour. In addition to the restructuring, Kelleher – among other leaders within the new teams – are expected to report direct to Bob Swan, Intel’s current CEO. Renduchintala is known within the industry as one of several key hires Intel made back in 2015. Prior to his appointment at Intel, he served as the executive vice president at Qualcomm. Renduchintala will fully and officially depart the company on 3 August. (Source: Reuters)
