According to Videocardz, Intel recently had a Xe DG2 GPU listed for an unspecified device. More to the point, it’s also suggesting that the GPU will have 8GB of GDDR6 graphics memory and ship out with Intel’s yet to be released with the Tiger Lake H-series CPUs. For the uninitiated, the Intel H-Series is the brand’s heavy-hitting processor lineup for laptops, so it kind of makes sense that the GPU would be released in tandem with them.
Getting back on point, Videocardz also presented an image of the Xe DG2’s die, giving us a glimpse of the alleged GPU’s die size, which is approximately 189mm overall. Moreover, you can also see the GDDR6 memory chips surrounding the GPU die, indicating that this is, in fact, a circuit board that we’re looking at. It’s not an understatement that there are some within the DIY and PC gaming community who are looking forward to Intel’s own dedicated graphics card. Of course, it goes without saying that the Blue team has an extremely steep wall to scale; NVIDIA recently launched its GeForce RTX 3080 graphics cards, while AMD recently announced that it would be launching its Radeon RX 6000 series later in October.
