iOS 12.4, the latest version of Apple’s mobile OS, was released earlier in June. Unfortunately, security researchers have found that it brought back a bug that was fixed in iOS 12.3. This means that up-to-date iPhones can not only be jailbroken, but hacked as well.

Another security researcher, Pwn20wnd, has published a jailbreak for the iOS 12.4. That said, he also notes that the returning bug may already be exploited for “bad purposes”. Ned Williamson of Google Project Zero also confirmed that the jailbreak works on his iPhone XR. It goes without saying that you should be careful with what you do with your iPhone, now that the return of this bug has come to light. Apple is likely already working on an iOS 12.4.1 to patch this bug. (Source: Vice)
