The explanation comes after a video from March recently resurfaced on Twitter featuring Health Minister Adham Baba’s announcement of issuing a physical badge to those who have received two doses of their vaccine. The clip drew ire from netizens who criticised the need to carry around an additional card when MySejahtera already issues a digital certificate, and also noting that the information could be added into the chip of the Malaysian Identity Card.
User @kennleandre even did some digging on the QR code shown at the back of the mock vaccination badge in the video. Turns out, instead of using a dummy QR code, the code on the badge seems to be a random one that links to the Soundcloud page of an educator called “ICT Evangelist”. This, of course, perplexed netizens and made people wonder why the designer of the mock badge didn’t just generate a link to the KKM site.
