Serial leaker Evan Blass has shared the official render of the LG Velvet, alongside what looks like its model number. The render itself shows nothing new, as we’ve seen most of the external details of the phone from the earlier video. But the model number, LM-G900N, may be an indication of something else.

— Evan Blass (@evleaks) April 27, 2020 Specifically, this indicates that the LG Velvet is essentially taking the place of what would have been the G9. At least, this is based on the model numbers of the previous phones in the G line. For example, the LG G8 ThinQ had a model number of LM-G820, while the G7 ThinQ came with the LM-G710 tag. It won’t be a long wait to confirm if this is really the case either. The company has posted a new video announcing that it will unveil the LG Velvet on 7 May. The launch event itself will be done on the company’s YouTube channel, as is the case with most events now that we’re dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
