For those who followed our previous report, you might have remembered that the Samsung Onyx LED cinemas screen first made its way into Malaysia just a few months ago. At MBO Atria cineplex, the installation (shown below) apparently able to deliver 4K contents with support for HDR alongside a sound system that can be customized to the content shown through the cinema hall.
Other than that, MBO Atria also has another hall that the company called MBO Big Screen that features a huge cinema screen that is said to be as tall as a 4-story building. Staying true to the commitment the company made to Dolby two years ago, this hall is indeed equipped with Dolby Atmos sound system.
— MBO Cinemas (@mbocinemas) December 19, 2018 In terms of ticket price, the MBO Atria’s Samsung Onyx hall apparently command an additional RM 3 on top of standard ticket price. The Big Screen hall on another hand also has an added fee of RM 4 per person. MBO Atria is also the first MBO cineplex to feature digital self-service ticketing kiosks which currently support payment through credit and debit cards. Last but not least, the cineplex also features the touchscreen-based Coca-Cola Freestyle machines that allow users to obtain more than 50 drink combinations by mixing multiple beverages under the Coca-Cola umbrella through these machines.
