“Starting 1 April, for Sinovac primary vaccine recipients aged 18 and above and senior citizens, who still have not taken a booster dose, their vaccination status will change from yellow to white,” Khairy said at a press conference earlier today. “It is final.” The vaccination status that the minister is referring to is the digital vaccination certificate in the MySejahtera app. A yellow certificate indicates that an individual has completed their vaccine doses (including booster), whereas a white certificate means that their vaccination is incomplete. Simply put, those who fail to receive their booster shots after the deadline hits will have their Fully Vaccinated status revoked.
Since December of last year, MOH has stressed that booster shots are mandatory for Sinovac recipients, as well as those aged 60 and above – regardless of which vaccine they received. Those who’ve not done so are recommended to visit the various PPVs across the nation, which also have recently begun offering Sinovac boosters at offsite locations for primary recipients who are hesitant to mix vaccine brands.
