Discovery of the rumoured device, codenamed “mystique” was found in a line of code by developers at XDA, who were examining NVIDIA’s latest SHIELD Experience software. Upon closer inspection, the source code also revealed what appeared to be possible hardware specifications for the device. Suggesting that the device could be a 2-in-1 device, much like the Microsoft Surface.
The code also points towards a new software feature referred to as “NvDtExp”, a code XDA deduced to be an abbreviation of NVIDIA Desktop Experience. The software will reportedly support three UI modes; Dynamic, Tablet, and Desktop. Information about the device’s hardware is still spotty, but it’s likely that NVIDIA could utilise its AI-focused Xavier SoC, which was launched last year. Again, this is all just speculation, but it would make a lot of sense, considering the amount of power that the Xavier SoC is able to churn out. Once again, much of this information is speculation, based primarily on the discovery of a string of code. Plus, given NVIDIA’s SOP of “not commenting on unreleased and unfinished products”, it’s best to take this news with just a pinch of salt. (Source: XDA via Hot Hardware)
