For now, Project Sandcastle is still quite limited. You’ll only be able to make an iPhone 7, 7 Plus, and iPod Touch. The limitation is because the hack relies on the checkra1n jailbreak to launch. This jailbreak doesn’t work on the iPhone 11 or newer. On the other hand, it should continue to work on devices that can already make use of it. Unless Apple fixes the jailbreaks on older devices, that is.
Corellium has previously made such a hack 10 years ago. Back then, co-founder David Wang first released a hack that allowed Android to run on the iPhone 3G. And it’s an interesting time for the company to be releasing a new hack, as it is currently being sued by Apple for it. If you still have an Apple iPhone 7 or 7 Plus and would like to try this out, Project Sandcastle has the instructions you need, linked below. (Source: Project Sandcastle via Forbes, Engadget)
