Based on the information at Samsung Malaysia’s website, it seems that Samsung will be bringing over two 8K models in the form of Q950TS and Q800T to our market. Their actual retail availability is not yet known though but the site does list the Malaysian pricing for both models.
Let us start with the Q950TS first which has what Samsung called the Infinity Screen due to its near-invisible screen bezel and a screen-to-body ratio of 99%. Available in three different sizes, the 65-inch option for Q950T is priced at RM 29,999 while the larger 75 and 85-inch variants are listed at RM 44,999 and RM 64,999 respectively. As for the Q800T, its price is slightly lower although you still looking at a 5-figure price tag right here. The 65-inch variant can be obtained for RM 22,999 while the 75-inch option goes for RM 29,999 with the 82-inch iteration peaked out this model at RM 39,999.
Despite the hefty price tags mentioned above, none of them could beat the 98-inch variant of the 2019 Q900 series though. Yes, Samsung is still selling the built-to-order 8K QLED Smart TV despite being a 2019 model although at a much lower price of RM 199,999 as compared to its original RM 299,999 price tag. Interesting enough, Samsung Malaysia is now giving away a free Sero self rotating 4K QLED TV for each purchase of the new 2020 QLED 8K Smart TV, as part of its Raya 2020 promotion which will last until the end of June. While the offer has also been extended to the gigantic 98-inch Q900 model, the 65-inch variant of Q800T is not eligible for it though.
As pointed earlier, the actual retail availability of these Samsung 2020 QLED 8K Smart TVs was not mentioned on Samsung Malaysia’s website. Given the Raya promo above though, expect them to pop up at retail stores anytime now.
