Menteri Besar Daruk Seri Amirudin Shari said that the Selangor government had identified 77 collection centres consisting of 10 local authority halls and 67 restaurants across Selangor that would provide food during the fasting season. He also ensured that the centres will comply with social distancing rules and strict hygiene standards, and mentions that traders will receive typhoid injection as required by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and local authorities.
Additionally, the minister stresses that these locations will only serve as a collection centre and that no cooking activity would be done there. Amirudin Shari stated that no walk-in purchases are allowed, and only delivery partners such as Grab, Bungkusit, Mr Speedy, Zepto Express and MatDespatch are permitted to collect food. On top of the digitalisation incentives, the state government is also offering easy financing without interest to small traders participating in the Ramadan e-bazaar. The financing will be done through Hijrah Selangor and offers between RM3,000 to RM5,000 to those eligible. (Source: Bernama)
