The US is expected to sign a “phase one” trade deal with China this month which includes the agreement of trading ‘non-sensitive’ supplies to Huawei. Ross added that a total of 206 applications were sent to the US government for the trade license. And that he expects the permissions to be granted before the end of the year.
The issuance of these licenses will undoubtedly prove favourable to Huawei, especially since it would allow the Chinese company to restart trading with other US-based companies. Including Qualcomm, Intel, and ARM to name a few. More importantly, these licenses would also enable Huawei to reinstate Google’s mobile services and apps into all the brand’s current and future devices. One casualty of the ongoing trade war between the US and China are the brand’s latest flagships, the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro.
