In what is currently being dubbed as “the best feature ever” by WABetaInfo, the website also mentions that users will no longer be required to have an active internet connection present on their primary device to run the instant messaging app on other devices. Alternatively, users can directly use WhatsApp via desktop or other devices even if their phones are switched off.

Speaking of WhatsApp for desktop, WABetaInfo has also mentioned that there will be a new UI launching soon on the platform. This update will provide users with additional information on how a certain chat history has been migrated from a device, while at the same time explain the process of end to end encryption. Currently, the new multi-device feature is being tested for release on Beta, and some features are still not available for use. However, if you’re interested to be one of the first few users to try out this update, you may want to consider enrolling your Android device for the WhatsApp beta test program via the link attached here. At the time of writing, the company has not revealed any official release date for this feature on the full version of WhatsApp. However, this is indeed a long awaited update which looks to bring convenience for many users who rely heavily on multiple devices when using WhatsApp. (Source: WABetaInfo, Android Authority)
