For our market, Xiaomi has decided to bring two models including the standard Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. It is indeed hard to differentiate them apart as both models feature the same design language and are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The easier way to set them apart is by looking at their screen size as the Pro model is equipped with a larger 6.73-inch WQHD+ AMOLED display while the standard variant offers a 6.28-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. Both display panels have the same 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate as well as the support for Dolby Vision and HDR 10+. Another factor that differentiates them apart is the camera hardware that Xiaomi has equipped into each model. The Pro’s main camera features a 50MP Sony IMX707 sensor and f/1.9 lens alongside a 50MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera and 50MP f/1.9 telephoto camera with their sensors being the Samsung ISOCELL JN1. On the other hand, the standard variant is equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor and f/1.88 lens for its main camera while the phone also features a 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide camera and a 5MP telephoto camera. When it comes to the selfie camera, both Xiaomi 12 Series devices rely on a 32MP f/2.45 camera. As you may expect, the Pro model has a larger battery at 4600mAh although the standard model is not far off at 4500mAh. Their charging speed is quite different though as the Xiaomi 12 Pro supports the company 120W HyperCharge tech while the vanilla Xiaomi 12 maxed out at 67W. When it comes to wireless and reverse wireless charging, both models have the same power rating though at 50W and 10W, respectively. Not to forget, they have also received audio enhancements from Harman Kardon and supports Dolby Atmos contents although the Pro model is equipped with four speakers as opposed to the dual-speakers set up on the standard variant. The new Xiaomi 12 Pro which comes standard with 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage is priced at RM3,899 while the Xiaomi 12 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage goes for RM2,999. Pre-order customers of these models will be provided with a Xiaomi Soundbar 3.1ch, 1-year extended warranty, and 6-month coverage for a free screen replacement.
Just like its 256GB counterpart, the Xiaomi 12 with 128GB internal storage still has 8GB of RAM but costs slightly less at RM2,899. That being said, customers can save further by pre-ordering this particular variant at RM2,799 via the flash sales session at Lazada and Shopee tonight.
